Two months ago, I could have written about the travails of organizing a Men's Retreat in our parish and how the devil tried to stop us even at the last hour because the evil one didn't want us men to be united behind St. Michael the Archangel and defend our church, family and children against his snares and wickedness.
And recently, I thought of writing about the pitfalls of getting addicted to the internet and social media such as Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, etc., and how the devil could be using these sites to propagate his agenda of promoting among men false prophets, devil worship, violence and destroying their souls through pornography.
Finally, before opening my laptop, I was even tempted to revisit the horrors of child abuse after watching on TV reveting testimonies on the murder trial revolving around the death of baby Caylee.
But the evils of war and the need for spiritual warfare against the devil among men came into focus as the newcaster signed off on the Memorial Day weekend to honor our veterans, while the recent number 8 of Iraq/Afghan veterans who commit suicide everyday while patiently waiting to get psychiatric help and benefits is forever etched in my mind.
